A heat advisory will be in effect from Wednesday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. to Friday, April 8 at 6:00 p.m. High temperatures of 98-102 on Thursday and Friday are expected.
Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
The San Gabriel Library will be open during regular business hours (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) if you need to escape the heat.
Some tips to following during the heat wave:
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure and strenuous activities
- Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
- Call 911 in you suspect a heatstroke
- Check on your neighbors, when possible
