New Age Minimum: Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 21-62, which takes effect on Monday, March 15, 2021, reducing age for vaccine eligibility for general public to 60.

Publix, CVS, Walgreens will offer COVID-19 vaccine to all Florida school, day care workers: In addition to CVS, Publix, Walgreens and federally run vaccination sites will provide the vaccine to all workers at pre-K, K-12 and day care centers in the state. Read more

Publix to administer Johnson & Johnson vaccine: On Wednesdays Publix vaccine registration will schedule appointments exclusively for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Those who prefer to get the Moderna vaccine can schedule on Mondays and Fridays. Read more

CDC Issues New Guidelines: Guidelines for those who are fully vaccinated, meaning received BOTH doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine AND have been vaccinated for TWO weeks. 
Key Points: 
  • You can gather indoors with fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask.
  • You may gather indoors with people from ONE other household without masks or social distancing.
  • You still must partake in mitigation efforts such as wearing a mask, staying 6 feet away from others, and avoiding crowds.
  • You still should avoid gathering with unvaccinated people from more than one other household.
  • Travel guidelines have not been issued. Domestic and International travel should still be delayed.

COVID-19 Determination of Extreme Vulnerability: Form for physicians to certify they have determined an individual to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 and eligible to receive the vaccine. Note: vaccines for this group are not provided by DOH-Collier but can be obtained at pharmacy vaccine sites. CDC List of Underlying Medical Conditions

We encourage physicians to register to become vaccine providers for when vaccine allocations become available for your practices (likely no earlier than March, situation is fluid).
