Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that next week we will be welcoming in the month of May! Next week our kids will busy with all things MOM! The week will be spent making projects to make moms feel special. This year we will not be able to do our Muffins with Mom event. I am most grateful that Mr. & Mrs. Wicks have volunteered to do a little Mother's Day Photo Shoot. On Monday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00 am, please take a moment BEFORE dropping off your child to pose for a photo. If "MOM" doesn't drop off, whoever drops off can take the photo and we will give it to all Moms as a gift. Whenever possible, Mom's please try and be the drop of person on Monday. As this could cause a delay in the normal drop-off routine, please plan your time accordingly as we hope to get a photo of all kids. I will print those photos for you as a little gift from the school.
With regard to school photos, those families who paid for Cap & Gown VPK photos, they have arrived and can be picked up starting Monday. Please ask for them when you PICK UP your child as drop off is a busier time at our school. I am also told that those of you who ordered school pictures this last go around, they will be here before the end of next week. When they arrive we will pass them out.
Thank you to everyone who has signed up for your summer vacation weeks in the window in front of my office. If you have not signed up, the deadline to do so is May 1. I will leave the lists up until the end of next week so please sign up if you plan to take any vacation time.
Many thanks to the parents of Yellow and Blue Doors. Once again you outdid yourselves and all of our staff felt your love and their bellies were more than full at yesterday's Teacher Appreciation Lunch. National Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, May 3-7. Although we are doing these lunches for many weeks, if you feel inclined to do something special for your child's teachers I know they would be thrilled. I try to show my appreciation year round, but this National week is just another opportunity to pamper the amazing women who give 1000% to the children at our school. Many of you have asked for ideas this week knowing the week was approaching. My answer....You can never go wrong with gift cards! Also, just a card with a handwritten note can also mean so much, much more and money can buy.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed. S, NBCT
