Kidney Walks are a vital source of support as we provide real-time assistance for those in need. More than 80 cents of every dollar donated goes to research, patient services, professional education, public health education, and community services. There is no registration fee. However, all participants are asked to fundraise. Your fundraising dollars provide life-saving programs and services to the 37 million (more than 1 in 7) American adults currently living with chronic kidney disease and the 1 in 3 adults who are at risk. Learn more here.

Contact: Kourtney Ilbery, kourtney.ilbery@kidney.org, 618.839.0423. Registration is available online. All participants should register, including children. You should register your children either online or on the day of the event. By registering your children, you are signing that waiver of participation on their behalf if they are under the age of 18. Help our Food Insecure Neighbors

Food Pantry Support

Date/Time: Ongoing

Location(s): Please use the St. Louis Area Foodbank find a pantry link to find a food pantry near you.

Ages: Everyone is welcome to participate

Time Commitment: Varies

The holidays are over, the pandemic continues, and millions of children and families living in America still face hunger and food insecurity every day.
  • In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment has soared and food insecurity is on the rise. More than 50 million people may face hunger because of coronavirus.
  • Every community in the country is home to families who struggle with food insecurity, including rural and suburban communities.
  • Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger relief organizations for support.

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, food banks have had to keep up with increased demand and still continue to need extra donors and volunteers to accomplish their goals of feeding our neighbors who are facing hunger. Here are a few ways you and your family can help:

  • Reach out to the St. Louis Area Food Bank and ask what support/donations they need now.
  • Start a collection drive of specific items (canned goods, etc.) and deliver them to your food bank or pantry
  • Make a donation to your local food bank or pantry

KidSmart's mission is to empower children in need to succeed in school by providing free essential tools for learning. Volunteers are needed to pack and sort school supplies for students.
