TUESDAY MEMO
5th grader Sophia, 6th graders Liam and Anders, 7th graders Lucy and Cora, and 8th graders Julian, Ignacio, and Celia all joined Caroline in delivering 50 decorated bags, 48 loaves of freshly baked pumpkin bread, and many pounds of non-perishable groceries to the Lyndon Area Food Shelf in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort!
Hello {First Name},

Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed restful and happy time away from Riverside and with family and friends. We were SO SORRY to miss welcoming grandparents yesterday and are brainstorming other ways to help them spend more time in our school community.

Happy Tuesday everyone,
Nelia

NOTES
SCHOOL PICTURE RE-TAKES
The photographer from Whipple Studios will be back for re-takes of any unsatisfactory student photos tomorrow, Wednesday, November 29, mid-morning. If you'd like your child's photo to be re-taken, please return the order packet, with complete and un-cut photos, to Krystal as soon as possible.
HOLIDAY MEALS FOR TEACHERS
If you are inspired to present your child(ren)'s teacher(s) with a gift this season, instead of purchasing something, please join in the PAG's tradition of providing breakfast, lunch, and leftovers for all our staff during the final week of school in December. If you don't want to cook and your schedule allows, you can help by setting- and cleaning-up a meal.

PAG Leader Molly Moghari (3rd grader Bryn, 5th grader Emmet, 8th grader Kellan) has set up a Meal Train to facilitate sign ups. We are feeding 22 people, so it takes a village to pull this off and we encourage everyone to sign up for a slot. Dietary restrictions and specifications are listed next to each meal. Thank you so much for your contribution - Riverside faculty & staff look forward to this every year! If you have any questions please reach out to Molly.
ICE SKATING
On Friday Caelum, Aqua, Ignis will go ice-skating; Terra will be at gymnastics. Parents and siblings are always encouraged to join us at the rink, come skate! Please pick up at those locations at 3:15 on Friday.

Mark your calendar for future Fridays:
  • Dec. 8: Ignis, Terra, Aqua at skating, Caelum at gymnastics
  • Dec. 15: all 6-8th graders skating, K-5th graders on campus
BAKE FOR BURKLYN
Burklyn Arts is a local organization that helps fund art education in many area schools, including Riverside. Thanks to Burklyn we can go to see professional performances, engage in our play productions, and invite visiting artists to work with our students in the classroom. Burklyn's major fundraiser is their craft fair, a wonderful gift shopping opportunity. This year's fair is at Catamount Arts ArtPort at the Green Mountain Mall this Saturday, December 5. Burklyn asks that all the schools they support help provide cookies for their bake sale, and so we hope that the Riverside Bakers and others willing will drop off some cookies here at school on Friday, Dec 1, and then we will deliver them to the fair for selling, no need to package them individually. If you use a container you'd like returned, please put your name and "Riverside" clearly on it.

ANNUAL APPEAL
We are sincerely grateful for the numerous ways in which Riverside Families contribute to the health of our school. As you've read in previous Memos, we rely on the current parent community to organize fundraisers to help bridge the gap between tuition and expenses. We notice and appreciate the hours of time and expertise that all parents give in their work on committees, baking, volunteering, substitute teaching, chaperoning, gardening, painting, and more.

Our other key strategy in raising the income we need is our Annual Fund, an appeal for which goes out to almost everyone we know. While we'd like you to consider the size of your gift as it relates to the difference Riverside makes in your lives and your other philanthropy, what matters most is simply your participation. There is not gift that is too small. If you haven't already, please consider making a gift to Riverside today.
