MAKING SPIRITS BRIGHT
It was a few weeks before Christmas, and all through Mizzou,
Not a creature was sleeping or knew what to do!
The Missouri Legislature was filing bills to lessen their care,
Yet there was hope that the Alliance would surely be there.

There was confusion and great angst and loss of what to do,
Because nobody seemed to care, and it seemed their fate was doomed!
Puppy mills were plotting to undo humane laws next year,
And ag groups and even the MVMA were creating fear,
That no animal was safe and their future unclear!

When what to me wandering eyes should appear,
The lobbying team of the Missouri Alliance, as they do each year,
The Alliance, with its crew and Santa boots,
Was arriving in Jeff City to horns, tweets, and toots!
Come one, come all and learn what the Alliance needs you to do,
To help the animals through this New Year.
Then you’ll enjoy your Christmas and to your concerns bid Adieux!
PLEASE RESPOND TO OUR LEGISLATIVE ALERTS

Missouri Legislature Filing Bills for 2023 Legislative Session
The 2023 legislative session commences on January 4, 2023, and state legislators, in anticipation, have already started pre-filing bills for the upcoming session.

Currently, there have been over 800 bills filed in the Senate and in the House of Representatives.

You can be assured that the Alliance will work diligently with our state legislators to advance pro-animal bills and defeat all harmful animal bills. We will keep you updated on all of the animal legislation and will be sending out Action Alerts when we need you to contact your legislators on animal bills.
If you receive this email, you are already signed up for action alerts. Please check your junk folder periodically, however, to ensure our emails don’t end up there. We have strength in numbers, so make sure to recruit your friends and family to sign up for alerts.
Critical Petland Protest This Saturday
There will be a demonstration at the Petland in Fenton this coming Saturday, December 10th from 12-2pm. This will be an especially important protest as it is likely that more shoppers will be venturing to Petland to buy a dog for the holidays. Educating the public about the truth behind Petland is a critical component to stopping the puppy mill pipeline. Learn more about the upcoming peaceful protest here.

Remember the Alliance in Your Estate Planning
Leaving money to the Alliance through your will or trust is a profound way to create a legacy of compassion and ensure positive change for animals. An even easier way is to name the Alliance as the beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan. In any event, we are grateful to be considered as a beneficiary of your overall estate plans.
