Transfiguration Sunday February 11, 2023

Welcome to St. Laurence

This Sunday, we conclude our journey through the season of Epiphany with the Feast Day of the Transfiguration of Christ. After the service, join us for coffee, tea and fellowship, then join us for Conversations. This week, we reflect on our encounters with the Divine, and how those experiences affect our lives.

If you are unable to join us in person, please join our livestream service, or watch a video at your leisure. The link below will work for all livestreamed services.

As we begin Lent, we invite you to join us for Ash Wednesday services on February 14. Our 10:00 am morning service is the traditional said liturgy from the BAS. The 7:30 pm service is a contemporary setting with sung responses.

See below for more information about Lenten devotions and studies.

Daily devotions for Lent

This year, rather that creating paper booklets, we are inviting you to sign up for Lenten devotionals.

YSalt Project is offering a devotional booklet on “Climate and Faith”.

“This seven-week, 40-day devotional takes a “love-and-act” approach (rather than “doom-and-gloom”), building on our love for our neighbors, near and far, and our love for God, Maker of heaven and earth.”

This is a downloadable file, for $10 (US)

And from Kate Bowler: “Lent is full of hard truths. And it is a perfect moment for spiritual honesty. We can look on this tragicomedy with love and bemusement as we wait for the someday that will be God’s promised future. There, God’s kingdom comes. God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. And in the meantime, there’s this . . . our beautiful, terrible days.”
