Please read the following important information, so that you are well prepared
Snow and Weather Delay Schedule
As the winter season approaches, we want to ensure that everyone is well-informed about our procedures in the event of inclement weather.
In the event of Denver Public Schools calling a Weather Delay, whether it be a two-hour delay or a 90-minute delay, please note that CEC Early College will NOT have a different bell schedule. We will adhere to our regular daily bell schedule.
For instance, since our regular school day begins at 8:20 am, and that means if we are on a one-hour delay, students will report to their respective classes at 9:20 am. Similarly, if we are on a two-hour delay, classes will start at 10:20 am, two hours after our usual 8:20 am start time. It is important for students to go directly to the class they would normally attend at the adjusted start time. We want to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption to the learning process.
Construction Project/Travel Impacts on Federal Boulevard
In addition to this notice, we would like to inform you about Travel Impacts that are starting this week on Federal Boulevard that will affect your commute. Beginning Tuesday, November 14, through Friday, December 1, crews will realign how people travel on Federal Boulevard between West 22nd and West 28th Avenues, moving both northbound and southbound vehicle travel onto the west side of the roadway (in what's normally the southbound travel lanes) to install new stormwater pipes on the east side of the roadway.
While this temporary travel configuration is in place, there will be no access to Federal Boulevard from the east on West 24th, 25th and 26th Avenues. Instead, motorists will be detoured south on Eliot Street to West 23rd Avenue to cross Federal Boulevard and to access the north and southbound lanes of Federal Boulevard. People headed north and south on Federal Boulevard will be prohibited from making left turns at 23rd and 26th Avenues. People traveling west on West 26th Avenue will not be able to cross Federal Boulevard during this time but will be able to make left and right turns onto Federal.
We encourage travelers to choose alternate routes to avoid these temporary lane closures and travel impacts on Federal Boulevard. See map below.
