We are pleased to share this photo of the Scouts and Scouters in attendance for the February 4th Scout Sunday mass at St. Michael Catholic Church in Glen Allen. Fr. Dan Brady celebrated Mass and presented religious emblems to Cub Scouts earning the Light of Christ religious emblems and Scouts BSA youth earning the Ad Altare Dei emblem. Congratulations to all in attendance! Through the celebrations known as Scout Sunday, Scout Sabbath and Scout Jumuah, youth can reflect on their faith and the 12th point of the Scout Law. Learn More!
Hi Heart of Virginia!
Calling All Radio Scouters, and Scouts Interested in Radio
The FCC Amateur Radio Service and Scouting share a common mission: service to others. The Camp TBS ARC club was formed in 2019 while the affiliated operating station was constructed. The station is located at Camp T. Brady Saunders. The goal of this project is to provide a space for STEM programs in radio and teaching the Radio Merit Badge. Membership is informal and offered to BSA registered youth and adult volunteers at no cost.
Your Scouts will be excited to earn MORE funds for Summer Camp this year! After a great deal of research and consultation with many who sell Camp Cards, the Product Sale Committee of the Heart of Virginia Council is moving to a $10 Camp Card for 2024. This means that Scouts can more than double their fundraising efforts earning $6 per card during the "Early Bird Sale!"
Committee Member / Committee Chair Workshop:
February 24th
Does your Unit have challenges it could use help with? Could your Unit’s Committee function more smoothly, more efficiently, more seamlessly with “uniformed” leaders? Does your Unit’s Committee need a boost? Could a network of Leaders from other Unit Committees help you with any of the above? ALL parents and leaders connected with the BSA, especially current and future Committee Chairs and Committee Members are invited to attend this specialworkshop on February 24th!
Join us at Cub Adventure Camp for a weekend of fun spring activities including fishing, archery, BB, Crafts, and for 4th and 5th graders, the climbing tower in May. Event check-in is on Saturday morning, but packs can arrive and camp on Friday if desired. You can also just come out for the day. Cub and Webelos Scouts can attend with either their Pack or as a Family campout.
