Your Checklist.....

Before you hit the road for the Normandy Camporee, don't overlook some of Scouting's basics related to activities and travel. In some cases, this may be the first time some of your Scouts or their families have been to a Scouting activity..... or traveled as part of a Scouting contingent.

Make sure your Scouts and leaders are registered. Check your unit roster in My.Scouting.org
Make sure all adults (including parents who are participating) are familiar with the Guide to Safe Scouting.
The contingent leader(s) have the appropriate level of Annual Health and Medical Record for all members of the contingent.
Encourage all adults (including parents who may not be registered leaders) to complete Youth Protection Training.
All members of the contingent have appropriate passports / National ID and meet the vaccination requirements to enter France (and any other countries you may pass through on your way to the camporee)

Acquaint yourself with all the BSA Health and Safety Resources and be sure you have reviewed the SAFE Checklist to ensure your unit has a great Scouting experience that is the safest it can be for all who take part in this event.

Camporee Security

A number of measures will be in place to ensure the security of all camporee participants, and the French government officials and agencies have reviewed our plans and several will take an active part in our camporee.

But don't overlook the basics:

Use the Buddy System and make sure all Scouts (and adults) understand the concepts behind the Buddy System
If it looks suspicious, report it to a member of the camporee staff. They will be highly visible in their staff jacket.
All registered participants will be issued a lanyard through the check-in process. If you see someone without a lanyard at a camporee event or in the campgrounds, it is important to make sure a staff member is alerted...... so wear your lanyard and before you complete the lanyard insert before leaving home.

Your camporee staff is committed to the highest level of safety and security.
