CancerCare's Year in Review

As 2022 draws to a close, CancerCare looks back at all that we've accomplished throughout a busy year. After a pause during the pandemic, we returned to some in-person events, including in-person support groups and community programs, and we held our fundraising galas in New York and New Jersey. Our new office was opened in Deer Park, NY, to reach more Long Islanders directly, we expanded our policy and advocacy efforts with the Employers' Prescription for Employee Protection Toolkit, and much more. A New Season of Podcasts

CancerCare's podcast series, Cancer Out Loud, features conversations with people impacted by cancer, including caregivers, survivors, loved ones and the bereaved. The first three episodes of Season 6 are now available, "Cancer Is Not Just a Six Letter Word," "It's a Marathon Not a Sprint" and "A Light in the Dark." Past seasons are also available on our podcast page. Check in throughout the year for more episodes!
Stories of Help and Hope

As a way of connecting people with the experiences of others whose lives have been impacted by cancer, CancerCare presents our ongoing Stories of Help and Hope, where those with cancer, caregivers and post-treatment survivors recount what they have undergone, hoping to share their wisdom. A Checklist for Caregivers

Whether it’s during the approaching holidays or other times of the year, caregiving for someone with cancer can often be difficult. As part of our efforts to help anyone impacted by cancer, CancerCare has teamed up with Novocure, a pioneering organization in the treatment of cancer, to provide an easy-to-use checklist for caregivers. This checklist seeks to break down caregiving into more manageable parts while reminding caregivers to take care of themselves, too.
