There is Such Value in Meaning

We, as humans and as a society, spend a lot of time measuring our worth in terms of dollars and cents. While it is vitally important for TriCircle to stay laser focused on our fiscal health, integrity and responsibility, there is much more we bring to the table as we sift and sort through our experiences and our evolution as an organization.

We are continually weighing the advantages of the many events, trainings, community programs, collaborations, partnerships and resources we offer to gauge their value and determine their worth. In measuring their outcomes and impact, we are forced to look at the numbers. However, it is also our bounden duty to visualize and evaluate the intrinsic value that, while added, may not be so measurable.

We are in the business of saving lives, changing hearts and minds, and reducing the shame and stigma that still surround the disease of addiction. Even if it is one life, one heart, one person at a time, we are determined to reach full implementation as quickly as possible. Once we do, our ability to impact the lives of those who are ready to reach out for help will be infinitely multiplied! We cannot get there fast enough!

While we are very busy in so many ways, striving to raise the money we need to keep a high level of forward momentum, our loved ones are dying. There is no way to sugar coat the statistics. The number of overdose deaths continues to rise, and these numbers are likely under reported. The latest evidence shows that last year in CT alone there were 1378 overdoses and 93,913 in our country.

TriCircle is moving to full implementation - a fifteen month, residential, holistic, individualized program that offers every resource and tool needed. A colleague of mine recently posted, "Imagine ONE PLACE where there is always an open bed, where there is an individualized needs assessment upon entry, job training and opportunities, education, skill building, court advocacy, family involvement, mental and behavioral health services, meetings that offer all kinds of avenues to recovery, community service opportunities, meditation, yoga, spiritual growth opportunities, exercise equipment, a wood shop, animals, a greenhouse, art therapy and more!" There are countless ways a project like this could work to sustain itself. It is all about partnering and collaborating to make it come true! It is about doing, but it is also about our collective thoughts, about thinking it into reality! It starts with small things like the Gala Brunch and ends with a ribbon cutting on the steps of the future home of TriCircle, Inc. Together WE are Stronger!"

The realization of our vision will build a firm foundation for individuals and families to live their lives in recovery and to build strong futures for themselves and others.

As we make strides and the changes necessary to provide these real long-term solutions, WE need you! How can you help? Interested in being part of the change we are implementing? Click here to connect with us! The need for the services WE now provide and the additional resources WE will provide in the future are so important. WE have to work quickly to be part of the solution, to save lives and to be sure our loved ones lost are not gone in vain. Together WE are Stronger!
Looking Forward
We are looking forward to a time when we do not have to wear masks, when hugs do not produce anxiety and when large gatherings are not rare occasions! With all that said, we are sad to say that with the spike in recent COVID cases and with the inability to secure vendors, musicians and supplies, we have decided to postpone our 4th Annual Recovery Fall Fest, originally scheduled for Sat., Oct 16, 2021. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will soon begin planning for our biggest and best event ever to be held in 2022.

Congrats to TCI Scholarship Recipients!
After very careful consideration, TriCircle, Inc. has chosen two worthy recipients to receive a $2,500 scholarship each, Elijah Lombardi and Sharon Gosselin. "With a Rose" Fundraiser Benefits TCI

The “With a Rose” fundraiser, held on Saturday, September 11, was a huge success. The event was named for Philip Lyons’ love of the Grateful Dead song of the same name and attracted over 300 attendees, a record breaking crowd at Nuzzo's Farm in Branford. Over $7,500 in proceeds from this event will benefit TriCircle, Inc.

Julie Lyons, Philip's mom, chose TriCircle because of the valuable connection she has made with one of its programs. After Philip's passing, in July 2020, Julie found a home in one of TriCircle's “Hope After Loss” support groups for bereaved parents, guardians and loved ones.

“TriCircle has pulled me through my deepest despair,” she said. “I’m still not great and do not expect to ever be the same. But all the people who do participate understand one another and the deep grief involved.”

Ana Gopoian, executive director and founder of TriCircle, Inc., who recently celebrated 26 years in recovery, said, “The stigma, struggle, isolation, and guilt that drive this disease are just as detrimental as the disease itself.”

Ana greatly appreciates any fundraising that can be put toward phase two of the organization’s three-phase plan which, in part, involves obtaining a mixed-use building for long-term residential treatment, resources and services for recovering individuals and their families.

Harness Your Halloween Superpowers

When I walk into any store lately, I see superheroes, doctors, nurses, princesses, ghouls, and goblins. As a little girl, I loved Halloween, not because of the candy, but because it allowed me to be someone else. Truth to be told, I loved to play dress up any day of the year! Now, when I leave the house, I wonder what role I am playing today: sober advocate, recovery coach, woman in recovery, mother of children in recovery or myself! Often playing a role helps me get through the day. Advocating for a person in active addiction, uplifting a young man in prison, coaching mothers in different stages of sobriety, and caring for myself takes courage, bravery and maybe a superpower or two. Put your cape on and continue to spread your superpowers throughout the world of recovery.
