English for Fire Emergencies

The Aurora Office of International and Immigrant Affairs, Aurore Fire Rescue and Si La Bul are offering this fourth of a four-part webinar series called English 911 for non-English speaking residents who feel as if they are not prepared to communicate in English during an emergency. The session is provided in English, and recordings with translated captions will be provided in the following weeks.

Online Lecture: Colorado Women in World War II
Wednesday, April 21, noon to 1 p.m.
Colorado women from every corner of the state enlisted in the military, joined the workforce, and volunteered on the home front. As military women, they served as nurses and in hundreds of noncombat positions. Whether or not they worked outside the home, they wholeheartedly participated in a kaleidoscope of activities to support the war effort. Join local author Gail Beaton as she discusses her new book "Colorado Women in World War II."
The Aurora History Museum lecture is free but registration is needed to receive the link to the Webex meeting. Space is limited.
Religious Diversity in Aurora Exhibit

The Aurora History Museum is showcasing and celebrating the wide variety of faiths and religious experiences of Aurorans in the new exhibit “Religious Diversity in Aurora.” Explore photos of over 140 houses of worship in the city and learn about other people’s beliefs and traditions.
COVID-19 Testing Sites
Extended through June 30
The state recently provided additional funding to allow community testing sites to continue through the end of June. Open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., free testing for COVID-19 is provided to anyone who wants to be tested, especially those who have symptoms. No appointment is necessary. No doctor referral, no health insurance and no proof of identification are required. Online registration in advance is preferred but is not required.
