The French-American Foundation invites you to its Annual Women of the Foundation Event around International Women’s Day.
Why the gender gap persists and how we can close it.
Women have made up roughly half of the college-educated workforce for years, and before the onset of the economic crisis of 2020, the gap between the percentage of women and the percentage of men in the labor force was the lowest on record. But women remain underrepresented in positions of power and status. The gender pay gap, for example, shows little movement, largely because high-paying jobs are the most gender-imbalanced. Even in areas where there are roughly equal numbers of men and women, or where women actually make up the majority, leadership ranks remain male-dominated. Read more.

Moderator: Maya Henry is a Vice President of Blackstone and a member of the Hedge Fund Solutions Group based in New York. In her role, Maya is involved in new business and product development, as well as servicing existing client relationships. She is also a 2017 Young Leader. Read more.

We warmly invite those who do not identify as women to also contribute, listen and observe, while leaving space for the women present to feel empowered and safe.

Description: Britain and Ireland have a long history of interaction and linkage. The withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union ("Brexit") formally occurred on January 31, 2020. For one, the Republic of Ireland had suddenly to face the fact that the border to Northern Ireland was also an "outer border" of the EU, requiring much more control, security, and paperwork.
