LEAH HAMILTON
Government Affairs Coordinator
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Leah Hamilton as the Government Affairs Coordinator. Her duties include researching the Chamber's advocacy efforts at local, state and federal levels, organizing and managing six annual events, and coordinating the Government Affairs Policy (GAP) program.
Leah has extensive experience in customer service and member-relationship businesses which include the Good Sam Club, Easyriders events, and Martin Chevrolet.
Leah enjoys cooking, time with family and friends, and camping. She graduated from California Lutheran University with a degree in communications.

MARVIN SORIANO
Membership Coordinato
r
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Marvin Soriano as the Membership Coordinator. Marvin will provide customer service support to new and existing members; contact, acquire and sell new memberships; coordinate the ambassador program, and organize Chamber 101 and ribbon cuttings.
Prior to the chamber, Marvin was employed by Harbor Federal Credit Union as a membership service and business development representative. Marvin also served as the liaison to grow partnerships with local businesses.
Marvin enjoys beach activities, bike riding, volleyball and swimming.

Donna Spends a Morning with Farmers & Merchants Bank

This past Sunday, I was provided a remarkable opportunity to visit the beautiful Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. Suzie Rather with Farmers & Merchants Bank graciously invited me to attend “Polo in Paradise.”
This was an extraordinary day as the first polo match was team Farmers & Merchants Bank, featuring the CEO and Chairman of the Board Daniel Walker verses team Farmers & Merchants Bank, featuring President Henry Walker.

Stuff the Bus raises $19,000 in school supplies
|
|
|
Assemblyman David Hadley has spearheaded a "Stuff the Bus" event to benefit students of TUSD and LAUSD.
“It's important that South Bay students have access to the best education possible, and an essential part of that is ensuring that they and their teachers have the necessary tools for success,” explained Assembly member Hadley.
The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce was a collection station for donations and supplies. Through this "Stuff the Bus" effort, approximately $19,000 in donations and supplies for TUSD and LAUSD students were raised.

Mandated Changes to Federal Employment Postings for August 1
|
|
|
With little notice, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently announced two mandatory poster changes.
Beginning August 1, employers must post updated versions of the Federal Minimum Wage poster and the Federal Employee Polygraph Protection Act poster.

Torrance Chamber Members Participate in Rotary Invitational Softball Tournament
|
|
|
Members of the Torrance Chamber recently participated in the Rotary Invitational Softball Tournament. Held at La Romeria Park, the setting for the day was one of friendship and fun. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Erik Barajas, Green Hapas, for the organization of the Chamber's team and to Bob Kelchner for the invitation to participate.
