Ray-Pec Parent Community,

Tomorrow is election day, and Proposition S is on the ballot!

Proposition S is Ray-Pec’s $72-million no-tax-rate-increase bond election. Proposition S provides tremendous opportunities for our students, meets our student enrollment challenges at the high school level, and allows us to be good stewards of our current facilities. For more information about Proposition S, please see this informational video.

Here is what Proposition S will look like on the ballot.
I also want you to be aware of another initiative on the April 6 ballot that may look like it is from the Ray-Pec School District but is not.

The Junior College District of Metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri, which is also known as Metropolitan Community College (MCC), has a question on the ballot. References to the Ray-Pec School District in the ballot language define the physical boundary of the school district for the purpose of a new tax levy to support the Metropolitan Community College (MCC). This is not a Ray-Pec School District ballot proposal.

Proposition S is the Ray-Pec School District no-tax-rate increase bond election and will be listed as Proposition S on the ballot.

I want you to be aware of this important difference between the two ballot initiatives and urge you to exercise your right to vote in the April 6 election.

On behalf of the Ray-Pec Board of Education, thank you for entrusting your children to the Ray-Pec School District.
