Wright State University's Indigenous American Cultural Student Association (IACSA) and the Asian and Native American Center (ANA) invite you to recognize Native American Heritage Month by attending several events on and off campus. R.E.A.C.H. Fest

Friday, November 17, 3-7pm AND Saturday, November 18, 9:30am-7pm

Dayton Metro Library - Main/Downtown, 215 E. Third St.


A Native American Heritage Month celebration featuring speakers, performers, the Indigenous Chef food truck, vendors, and tabling by community resources––including actor Gary Farmer (Cayuga), who is perhaps best known for his role in Smoke Signals, but more recently appears as Uncle Brownie in FX’s Reservation Dogs. More details about speakers and performers, is available on R.E.A.C.H.’s website here. In support of R.E.A.C.H. Fest, the ANA Center and IACSA are coordinating volunteers - if you are able to offer your time, you can indicate your availability here. INDIAN HORSE Film Screening

Enjoy a free screening of Indian Horse (2017), a film that follows the life of Native Canadian Saul Indian Horse as he survives residential school and life amongst the racism of the 1970s; snacks will be provided while supplies last. A discussion after the screening will follow.

Corn Husk Doll Making

Corn husk dolls are made out of dried leaves of a corn cob. Please join IACSA to learn how to make these traditional Native American dolls and about their history.

Navajo Rug Presentation

Join us for this presentation by Wayne Stark, Career Consultant in the College of Liberal Arts and advisor to IACSA. Bonfire and Pemmican

Following Wayne Stark's Navajo Rug Presentation, join IACSA at for a bonfire hangout and an opportunity to try Pemmican (Native dried meat) to close out WSU's Native American Heritage Month programming.

SunWatch Indian Village: Free Admission

In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, SunWatch Indian Village and Archeological Park, a museum preserving the history of the regions’s 12th century Fort Ancient Indians, welcomes visitors with free admission each weekend during the month of November. Guided tours of the village are available on Sundays at 2pm.

This FREE event will start with a tour of the Dayton Art Institute, while learning how to conduct ourselves in a professional manner.

After the tour, attendees will be served a three-course meal and will learn the details of how to dine formally and hear from our guest speakers who have prior experience in serving military leaders.

International Men's Day Panel

A panel of students, faculty, and staff share about how gender stereotypes affect men and highlight ways men can support gender equity. The panel will be followed by a discussion and free food will be available.

Join the LGBTQA+ Center for Chosen Family Feast followed by Rainbow Alliance's fifth annual Queer Prom.


Chosen Family Feast is intentionally held between Wright State's Fall Harvest and winter breaks. It is an opportunity for WSU's LGBTQA+ community to celebrate the holiday season with their chosen family and friends. Enjoy a free dinner with refreshments, a raffle, and a chance to expand and create deeper connections with your chosen family! 


Admission is free but RSVP is required for dinner due to limited space.


The LGBTQA+ Center will be accepting donations for the LGBTQA+ program fund.

This scholarship is awarded annually to a Wright State Student who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community and/or campus activism in the spirit of social justice and inclusivity. Open to all continuing WSU undergraduate and graduate students who have at least one semester remaining before graduation and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. Black Experiences with Reproductive Care


Tamika Odum, a PhD candidate in the department of Sociology at the University of Cincinnati seeks participants for a study that aims to understand Black experiences with reproductive care and ultimately to improve the relationships between healthcare providers and those they serve. Participants must be 18+ years of age; identify as Black, and live in Ohio, Kentucky, or West Virginia; and have ended or considered ending a pregnancy.
