The Travis County COVID-19 Public Dashboard indicates there have been a total of 1,312 confirmed cases in Travis County reported so far as of Friday morning, an increase of 283 since the same time last Friday. The highest reporting age range continues to be the 30 to 39 year old category, followed by the 20 to 29 year old category for both men and women.

to review the breakdown. Additionally, Governor Greg Abbott announced this week that there is plenty of hospital capacity available in Texas to handle COVID-19 hospitalizations. As of this post, there are currently 19,438 available hospital beds and 6,506 available ventilators statewide. In our Central Texas five-county region, there are more than 1,000 available hospital beds and nearly 400 available ventilators. There are currently 79 hospitalized for COVID-19 in our five-county region.

Austin Public Health has now launched a new online assessment tool for Travis County residents to help determine whether a COVID-19 test is needed. The assessment is free along with the test if the individual qualifies. An individual will need to create an account and answer a few questions. If the individual qualifies, they will be scheduled to visit one of the drive-through testing sites in the area to complete the test.

Governor Abbott began the process of slowly opening Texas to the public this week, including the re-opening of State Parks earlier this week and allowing retailers to offer to-go or delivery services starting today.
