Volunteers Needed: ESD Is Looking for Future City Mentors
This fall, middle school students began work on the Future City Competition; a project-based learning program where students work as a team with an educator and volunteer mentor to design a city of the future. This year’s challenge: climate change. The regional competition takes place in January. The Engineering Society of Detroit encourages you to get involved to help inspire the next generation of engineers by becoming a judge or sponsor.

Future City is a project-based learning program where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future. Keeping the engineering design process and project management front and center, students work in teams to ask and answer an authentic, real-world question: How can we make the world a better place? CLICK HERE > to learn more about the program.
