Food for Thought. . .
Aleta Shipley offered the final midweek Lenten reflection on "metanoia" or turning around as in repentance. It is well worth the read. . .

The question posed was what are you turning away from and/or what are you turning toward this lent? Coming of age in the 60’s it was hard for me to read that question and not immediately hear the refrain from the Byrds, Turn Turn Turn. Maybe it was the use of the word more than once in a sentence. Considering Lent in this context, as a time of turning, appealed to me in a way that giving up and sacrificing had long ago ceased holding my interest.  I set out on Ash Wednesday with the intent of having a meaningful and spirit-led six week journey. My eyes were open to turning towards God, my mind was racing with thoughts of turns and finding disciplines to support those turns.  To read more, click here. . .
