COMMUNITY RESOURCE CORNER

Have you heard of Goodwill Home Medical? It’s located in Bellmawr, and it’s worth the trip! They have a warehouse filled with used, refurbished medical equipment of all kinds, including wheelchairs, lifts, gait trainers, and many other kinds of equipment and supplies - for children and adults. They also accept equipment donations.

Families can call ahead to ask about what’s in inventory - the staff is knowledgeable.

FEBRUARY IS DENTAL HEALTH MONTH!

The American Dental Association program, “Give Kids A Smile,” has a mission to ensure access to quality oral healthcare for all children. Local Give Kids A Smile events provide free oral health education, screenings, preventive and restorative treatment to children.

GOODWILL SHAMROCK SHUFFLE 5K

For over 10 years, The GoodWill Foundation (in honor of graduated CTC student, Will Sullivan) has been supporting The CTC Academy with a generous donation from the proceeds of this incredible run. Family, friends and community members come together to celebrate the spirit of giving towards research and organizations that support people with disabilities. Thank you GoodWill for your wonderful work!

The students had a great time at Morris Museum. Initially, we engaged in hands-on experiences at the interactive stations of SPARK LAB! Afterward, we headed to an assigned classroom for lunch. The trip concluded with a visit to the model trail exhibit and the historical musical exhibit. The students all said they wanted to return to explore more of the museum.

Here at The CTC Academy, we are celebrating a successful 2023 thanks in large part to supporters like you. With the first month of 2024 behind us, we are proud to say that we began this new year with excitement and enthusiasm and even more goals to further our mission. We wanted to give special acknowledgement to our monthly donors and those of you who have participated in our newly developed planned giving program!

With your support last year, we were able to add back important programs that were paused due to the pandemic. Additionally, we have added new programs and adaptive equipment to better serve the needs of our students with disabilities - ages 18 months through 21 years - and provide support services to their families. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to The CTC Academy mission, students and families. We are looking forward to celebrating our achievements with you in 2024.
