PUT SAFETY FIRST ON MICHIGAN ROADWAYS
THIS Fourth of July WEEKEND
We at the Construction Association of Michigan remind drivers to stay alert and patient while traveling on Michigan roadways this Fourth of July weekend, particularly in construction work zones.

In 2020, there were 4,035 work zone crashes in Michigan, 14 fatalities, and 1,050 injuries. According to MDOT, most work zone crashes are caused by inattentive or distracted drivers. Speeding is also a major factor. It only takes a split second to dramatically change lives forever. CLICK HERE > to take a pledge to protect Michigan work zones.

If passing through the busiest rest area in the state, visit the National Work Zone Memorial, on display at the Clare Rest Area along M-10, through July 6th. MDOT and MIOSHA have collaborated to bring the the memorial to Michigan to honor workers who have lost their lives on roadways and also remind everyone about the importance of work zone safety. MIOSHA wants everyone to remember that "the roadway is a workplace for some people. Our mutual goal must be that every employee goes home at the end of every shift." CLICK HERE > to learn more about the memorial.
