SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE
Lovejoy Community,

Spring is a magical time of year. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and Lovejoy first graders are hatching baby chicks. Each spring, our first graders learn about life cycles and have the opportunity to hatch chicks as part of our science instruction. Children have a natural curiosity about the living world and hatching chicks provides them a hands-on learning opportunity.

I spent some time in Mrs. Meaders first grade classroom at Hart Elementary School this morning. Mrs. Meaders class was very eager to share their learning about the incubation process and the recent hatching of the baby chicks. The students’ excitement was contagious and the chicks were absolutely adorable (especially the one they named "Olive"). It made my heart smile to watch our students delight in the wonder and beauty of living creatures.

I hope this spring brings you new joys. Lovejoy ISD and our students have many bright spring days ahead.

There is only ONE LOVEJOY and we are ALL LEOPARDS!

Lovejoy Proud,
Katie Kordel
Superintendent
