MESSAGE FROM JIMMY

1. You are God’s beloved.
I want you to know that you are the object of our Heavenly Father’s affection. He chooses you. You are enough. Find 8 minutes and rest underneath the presence of the Lord by listening to Cody Carnes’ song “Nothing Else.” Follow the link to it here.

2. The Lord has added to our family. This past Sunday we baptized one of our Connections babies, Kaleb Matthew McGee. His mom Emily Craft grew up in our church and even attended our Weekday School. Sean McGee, Kaleb’s father, also joined our church. We are glad they are making their journey in discipleship with us. Let us continue to commit ourselves to helping them and one another grow as disciples of Jesus in a community of love and grace.

3. Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend! The Chiefs are still the chiefs! Kansas City and San Francisco met in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas Sunday night. If you have an extra ticket, I’ll be glad to take it off your hands! LOL. I enjoy watching the game and the commercials, but equally, I really love the food. My favorite chips right now are the Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho flavored ones. Grab a bag of these this Sunday and enjoy!

In worship this week…

Transfiguration Sunday

Message: “Are You Listening?”

Mark 9:2-13

This spectacular display of God’s glory encompasses nature’s pyrotechnics and visual effects to make a spectacular claim: Jesus is God’s ultimate self-revelation.

See you in worship this Sunday!

CHAT AND CHEW

Bishop Lewis is going across the Annual Conference to get to know all of the churches at an event known as "Chat and Chew 2.0."

Clinton First United Methodist Church has the honor of hosting our district's Chat and Chew on February 17, 2024 in the sanctuary beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 12:30 p.m. We hope you'll join us that day as the Bishop takes time to get to know the churches throughout the state.

LENTEN LUNCHES

This Lenten season we hope you’ll join us for our weekly Lenten lunches from 12-1 pm in the gym. Each week, the circles of Clinton First host by providing the table decorations and desserts. We hope you’ll join us for a brown bag lunch from home or from your favorite Clinton restaurant as we enjoy the teaching from some incredible speakers.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

GET TO STUDYING!

While I was walking around Barnes and Noble with a family from the church, I noticed this Lenten guide on the front shelves. It focuses on the transfiguration of Jesus, giving us a different lens to view Jesus in through the Lenten season.

Whether it is this study or another, I encourage you to dive in deep to a bible study this season. If you would like more suggestions, feel free to reach out to Katie.
