Advancing Our Mission
You Continue to Be The Light
Faith, Family and Tradition have been an enduring legacy for over sixty years. As we continue to build on this solid foundation, our work to preserve and enhance our mission continues to create the best opportunities for our students and families. We are grateful for the generous support of so many during our recent Be The Light This Christmas drive, totaling over $170,000 to be used toward the development of St. Francis de Sales Plaza and the Franciscan Loop. In the last year alone, new HVAC and Stallion Way have made a dynamic impact. Join us now to make yours. Franciscan Loop is the next step in transforming our campus and the lives of our students!
We look forward to giving our community the opportunity to once again support our co-curricular programs through the Stallion WishBook. The Stallion WishBook is an online, interactive way for you to get behind the programs you value and help fund exactly what each program needs most. In 2021, we raised $95,000, which directly benefited our co-curricular programs. Save the dates: Tuesday, March 1 through Monday, March 14.
Class Notes
We welcome Sarah Evans, SFD class of 2017, as our new Director of Alumni, Events and Family Engagement. Sarah is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS in Hospitality Management. She will work closely with our Alumni Board and Council and oversee our online alumni networking platform - Stallions Connect, where we'll host a place for class notes, networking, event notifications and social media feeds. She will also run events throughout the year and connect with our families. In addition to her new job responsibilities, this spring will mark Sarah's second season as an assistant coach for the Stallion softball program.
Congratulations to SFD alumni Luke Fickell '92 (Head Coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats), Ty Van Fossen '18 (University of Cincinnati) and Joey Velazquez '19 (University of Michigan) for participating in the College Football Playoffs.
Last month our Wrestling program celebrated a wonderful evening honoring the outstanding tradition of Saint Francis DeSales wrestling. The 2022 team gathered with the '71, '74, and '77 State Championship teams.
Alumna Raina Jackson '20 began her second season for the UNC Asheville Track and Field team on a high note breaking the school's indoor record in the shot put (12.78-meters).
SFD alumna and current Poetry Out Loud state of Ohio Champion, Monserrat Tlahuel Flores '21, held a workshop for SFD's Poetry Out Loud finalists last month to give some tips to these students before the school competition.

Congratulations to Hector Gomez '18, who was named a D3Soccer.com First-Team All-American! This is Hector’s second All-America honor from the website, being named to the second team in 2019.

STALLIONS FOR GENERATIONS

Members of the 4212 Legacy Society have thoughtfully included Saint Francis DeSales High School in their estate plans through deferred giving arrangements. These arrangements include various types of trusts, insurance gifts, IRA designations and bequests. A gift of assets can offer significant tax advantages for donors while having a huge impact at SFD. Consult your tax or financial advisor to fully understand tax implications.

Saint Francis DeSales High School is deeply grateful to those alumni, parents and friends who have made plans to ensure opportunities for future generations of DeSales students carrying on the 60 year legacy of Stallions at 4212 Karl Road. With this incredible support DeSales will continue for the next 60 years, and beyond to Empower Students For Life with a Catholic education grounded in FAITH, FAMILY and TRADITION.

To become a Charter Member of the 4212 Legacy Society, inform Tim Jewett, Director of Advancement in writing that you have named Saint Francis DeSales High School as a beneficiary in your financial or estate plans. For more information on how you can join the 4212 Legacy Society, please contact Tim Jewett, at 614-267-7808 ext 404 or at jewett@desales.co.
