POLITICAL GRAB BAG

Member Steve Bagby, Sr. has released the Political Grab Bag for the month of DECEMBER. It includes general information regarding the election results in November.
Holidays are a time when everyone seems consumed with special time together and festivities. Everywhere you look there are reminders that this is the holiday season. Having lost a loved one, you may feel a terrible ache in your heart and in your life. When dealing with loss, we are caught in the dilemma between grieving and the pressure to get into the holiday spirit. This holiday season, the Grief and Loss Support Ministry will be focusing on how to cope with loss during the holidays. Please join us for the 2nd Sunday in December.

Community Resources
The City of Los Angeles seeks to connect all Angelenos to employment opportunities, including those who may face barriers to employment. The Targeted Local Hire Program and the Bridge to Jobs Program are efforts to help under-served and under-employed populations find an alternative pathway to rewarding Civil Service careers with the City of Los Angeles. These two programs create a unique opportunity for individuals to enter into Civil Service outside of the City’s traditional pathway. Please click the buttons below for more information related to each program.

"The Biden-Harris Administration launched a new nationwide Test to Treat initiative in March to give individuals an important way to quickly access free lifesaving treatment for COVID-19. Through this program, people are able to get tested and – if they are positive and treatments are appropriate for them – receive a prescription from a health care provider (either on-site or through telehealth), and have their prescription filled all at one location. These “One-Stop Test to Treat” sites are available at thousands of locations nationwide, including pharmacy-based clinics, federally-funded health centers, long-term care facilities, and community-based sites. In May, the program was expanded to include federally-supported Test to Treat sites. People can continue to be tested and treated by their own health care providers, health care clinics in their community, and telehealth providers who can appropriately prescribe the oral antivirals to locations where the medicines are distributed."
**COVID-19 At-Home Test Kits**

Ordering through the free at-home test program was suspended on Friday, September 2 because Congress hasn’t provided additional funding to replenish the nation’s stockpile of tests. Visit www.covidtests.gov for more ways to access free COVID test kits.
Let's stay connected! Do you have good news to share with the congregation? We want to hear it! Read more about the protocols for sending in information HERE.
