Innovative Approach: Asking Caregivers to tell their stories as part of its effort to ensure that caregivers have the resources they and their families need to be healthy, as well as a voice in the policies and practices that affect them, Health Leads is using an innovative approach to gathering data. They are asking caregivers to use an online tool to share a story of what works for them and what would make their experience better. Health Leads then will follow up with a few questions. The tool is anonymous. Read about the tool and see a video on how it works.

In brief:

Bill to Watch: SB 2118. A bill to provide for an emergency increase in federal funding to state Medicaid programs for expenditures on home - and community- based services.

As 2024 nears, Advocates push for caregiving as campaign issue - from disability scoop.

Are you familiar with Idaho SESTA and their Quick Guides? Check out this one on Evaluation. Click through or contact IPUL to learn more about how they provide resources for parents - not just educators and administrators!

When completing an evaluation, the Idaho Special Education Manual provides guidance that

“the evaluation of each student with a suspected disability shall be full and individualized and sufficiently comprehensive to identify all of the student’s suspected special education and related services needs whether or not commonly linked to the disability category in which the student may be classified.”

Contact Idaho Parents Unlimited!

The best method to reach us for assistance is through our website:

https://ipulidaho.org/connect-with-us#contact-us-here . You can also shoot us a question using the abbreviated version of that form at the bottom of every page on our website, although we may need to get more information from you.

We monitor our intake phone line (208-342-5884) during the workday, and will try to respond to any request there within 24 hours. We use an automated intake phone system, so you will be leaving a message. (Please be sure the number you are leaving us can accept text or voice messages.)

For questions that are not about something in our scope of work, you can still leave a phone message as above, send the question to the form on our website, or shoot us an email at parents@ipulidaho.org.

We keep our website updated with new news and events, and maintain a presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
