City of Perry Hosts Leadership Perry

The City of Perry hosted June's Leadership Perry class!


"Leadership Perry seeks to identify and engage diverse and emerging leaders in the Perry area, with an emphasis on building the leadership base of Perry and Houston County. Leadership Perry is designed to deliver adaptive learning techniques, linking leadership skills to real challenges in the Perry area specific to future growth and economic development." (Perry Chamber Of Commerce)


The group toured the Frank Satterfield Wastewater Treatment Plant, asked Mayor Walker questions, and learned about Perry Police Department and City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services operations.

Sergeant Drew Rowell Named 2022 Firefighter of the Year 

The City of Perry Fire Department named Sergeant Drew Rowell as their 2022 Firefighter of the Year!


Firefighter of the Year is a nomination voted on by the employees of the Perry Fire Department. Sgt. Rowell was chosen for this award in recognition of his commitment to excellence to the department!

Perry Fire Obtains EMS Agency License


Perry Fire & Emergency Services received the EMS Agency License from the Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of EMS, and Trauma as a licensed Medical First Responder Agency.


This license ensures that whenever a fire apparatus is called to a medical emergency, there will be at a minimum an EMT or Paramedic on that apparatus to help expedite medical care under approved protocols from a licensed medical director.

Perry Farmers Market Receives Grant

The Downtown Perry Farmers Market received a Farmers Market Grant from AgGeorgia Farm Credit. AgGeorgia Farm Credit designated $7,500 to help local Farmers Markets promote their markets in 2022.


3 grants of $2,500 were awarded to qualifying markets, with the Downtown Perry Farmers Market being one of the grant recipients. This grant money will be used for rack cards, signage, and more to further promote the Downtown Perry Farmers Market.

Perry is Rehabilitating Homes with the CHIP Grant Program


Perry is spending $400,000 in state grant money to repair homes in the the area.


In accordance with the recently adopted Strategic Plan, the CHIP Grant will be used to aid those who cannot physically or financially make these upgrades to their homes.


New Airport Terminal and Corporate Building Coming to the Perry - Houston County Airport


Perry hopes to bring in new businesses and see great economic growth with these new additions to the airport.

Does your recycling bin look like this? If so, it's time for a replacement! Due to operational changes with solid waste pick up - older recycling bins must be replaced with a newer version.


Need a new one? Call Customer Service at (478) 988-2754 or text Perry Points by texting Hello to 888-49-PERRY (73779) to request a new recycling bin at no charge.



If you already have a tall City of Perry recycling bin - then you're good to go!
