COVID-19 Business News
MoCo Lifts All Business Restrictions this Friday

Beginning at 6 a.m. this Friday, May 28, Montgomery County will lift all capacity and distancing restrictions for indoor and outdoor businesses and venues, in line with the State of Maryland guidance.

Face coverings are no longer required outdoors, and persons who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear masks indoors, except as provided by the Maryland Department of Health which currently includes mask requirements in healthcare settings, schools, and on public transportation.

Important note: Private businesses and workplaces may continue to put in place their own policies or guidance. This includes requiring employees and customers to wear face coverings. Employees and customers should be aware and follow these requirements to ensure the safety of all.

Vaccine Success Allows Lifting of Restrictions

Montgomery County health officials have certified that 50 percent of County residents have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, thereby allowing most restrictions to be lifted. Those who have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccination, may click here to find information or make an appointment.

Individuals who ae completely vaccinated may click here to learn the latest Centers for Disease Control guidance on safe activities.

Work Search Requirements to be Reinstated for Job Seekers in June

To further accelerate the state’s economic recovery and with every business in Maryland fully reopened, Governor Hogan has directed the Maryland Department of Labor to work in collaboration with the federal administration to begin the process of reinstating work search requirements to connect more job seekers with good opportunities. The requirements are scheduled to be reinstated by late June. Watch this space for more details to come.
