Vaccines Prevent Serious Outcomes...Pass it On!

CDC data shows respiratory viruses continue to circulate post-holiday season. Rates of influenza-related hospitalization remain elevated and COVID-19 and RSV-related hospitalizations are also elevated but beginning to decline in many areas.

 

Flu and COVID-19 vaccination is recommended to reduce the risk of serious illness. The CDC has released a study showing that the updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine protects against infections caused by JN.1 and other co-circulating variants. Adults who received an updated vaccine were less likely to have symptomatic illness. Read the entire report here.

Continue to Trend Downward

The greatest number of COVID-19 cases continue to be seen in adults 75 years and older.


Long-term Care Facilities confirmed COVID-19 cases remain high at 8.4/000 cases for the week ending January 28.


Vaccination remains a vital tool to protect public health. One dose of the updated 2023-2024 Moderna, Pfizer or Novavax vaccine is recommended for individuals to be considered up to date. Who is considered up to date? Find out here (as of January 18, 2024).
