Dear Residents -
We are just about one week away from putting February 2021 in the books. I confess, I was overly optimistic that 2021 was going to be a much better year than 2020. With the never-ending snow this week, I found myself starting to question my optimism. But, with spring just around the corner, I am not giving up 2021 just yet. Remember, Hope is Never Cancelled!
Last week the Town facilitated a tour of the HNA property for developers, architects, real estate brokers and others who expressed an interest in the property. Special thanks to HNA for accommodating the tour and providing staff to respond to questions. Due to weather delays, the submission date for the Request for Expression of Interest has been extended to 5 pm on March 15, 2021. Based upon the turnout at the tour, we are excited to see the proposals for this important Orangetown property.
Sadly, earlier this week the Rockland County Saint Patrick's Day Parade Committee announced that they are cancelling the parade for 2021. I hope and pray that by March 20, 2022, enough people will have been vaccinated that they can host the long delayed 58th annual parade, with their Grand Marshal, Frank McDonagh, leading us up the avenue.
Stay safe, dry and warm. Hang in there, the weatherman is (finally) calling for warmer temperatures next week.
Respectfully,
