Guide us, Lord
Lord,
You brought salvation to Noah through
the waters and carried him through his time of trial to a covenant of love.
All times and all seasons belong to you.
As we now begin this time, this season, our time of trial, stay close to us.
Carry us through our temptations.
Remove all that keeps us apart from you.
Lead us by the right paths so that we may live in the light of your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Dear Parishioners,
Having indulged in a delicious paczki (pronounced punch-key) on Tuesday morning and then blessed Grab & Go meals and those who prepared them for Mardi Gras dinner Tuesday evening, I was properly prepared to sprinkle ashes on heads Wednesday morning, afternoon and evening, thereby officially inaugurating Lent 2021 for Catholics in northwest Sheboygan County! FIRST WEEK OF LENT - HUNGER IN OUR WORLD
Jesus told us that whatever we did for one of these least brothers of his we did for him. Reflect on the challenge of global hunger— it is a reality for millions of our sisters and brothers.
What will you do to support the hungry in our community and around the world?
Visit crsricebowl.org to learn more.
Make sure to take a CRS Rice Bowl home and use it in a conscious manner. Return the CRS Rice Bowls to the base of the cross in the church vestibule when they are filled or by Good Friday. An integrated part of partnering with CRS Rice Bowls is that 25% of donations will be given locally, this year to the Plymouth Food Pantry.

Scout Eagle Project Food Drive / February 20-March 7
Hello All! My name is Kevin Smith and I am a local scout with Troop 851. For my eagle project, I am organizing a food drive with local churches, and your church decided to participate. From Saturday, February 20 through Sunday, March 7, there will be a box in your gathering area to hold donations. If you are interested in donating, please bring your donations in a plastic bag and deposit them into the box. In particular, the food pantry is looking for hygiene products to be donated as they are more difficult to supply to families in need. Please be generous as this will help local families. Thank you for your time.

From our SJB School Principal

Dear Parish Family and Friends,
It is with great pride and excitement that I invite you to learn more about our St. John the Baptist Catholic School family.
At SJB our mission is for our students to grow in knowledge of the Catholic faith, strive for personal and academic excellence and to serve God and others.
We are committed to supporting our families, engaging our students, keeping our community together, and providing a safe learning environment for our students and staff.
Our academic program is rigorous and relevant, preparing students well as they move on to high school and beyond. We are blessed to have a 13:1 student to teacher ratio! We are proud to share that 75% of last year’s 8th graders made the honor roll at our local high school. I warmly invite you for a personal tour of an extraordinary learning community.
Enthusiastically,
Mrs. Amy Nelson

Catholic Social Teaching - 101
|
|
Catholic Social Teaching (Part 5 of 7)
Options for the Poor and Vulnerable
A basic moral test is how our most vulnerable members are faring. In a society marred by deepening divisions between rich and poor, our tradition recalls the story of the Last Judgment (Mt 25:31-46) and instructs us to put the needs of the poor and vulnerable first.
