Happy October, everyone. Fall is my favorite season with cooler temperatures here in Germany, crisper air and changing leaves. This is when I miss upstate New York with its brilliant colors. Time to start lighting pumpkin spice and apple-scented candles every evening!

Summer was quiet at The Foundation but we are now totally in gear. We have prepared the slate of Education Awards and Development Grants for 2024 – many thanks to all our generous EA and DG sponsors and supporters from the FAWCO sisterhood. We couldn’t do this without you!

In addition, we are busily getting ready for the Regionals that will take place in October and November. We hope to see many of you there. If you submitted a quilt square for this year’s Friendship Quilt, thank you! It will be revealed at the Region 5 conference in Hamburg, the first weekend in November.

We sadly note the passing of Jackie Isler, a FAWCO and Foundation icon. The tremendous outpouring of affection for her certainly indicates how much she was cherished by the FAWCO community. We will honor her at the IM in Porto in March, 2024.
