WHY DOWNTOWN MATTERS
Downtown businesses are anchor industries that make up the lifeblood of our community . The livability and character of our local neighborhoods and the vibrancy of our Downtown is about more than just the economy. Our Downtowns are an iconic symbol of our history and for many our Downtown is the heart of the community. A recent survey generated considerable response and early indications show that the respondent businesses are Parkland County 16%, Spruce Grove 42%, Stony Plain 35% and 7% other (Lac Ste. Anne, St Albert and Edmonton. We asked; What type of downtown events do you feel would be most suitable in your community? The responses captured reflect that 38% street markets, 34% farmers markets and 20% music and entertainment would be favorable. A full report will be available shortly and will be presented to our Municipalities for their consideration. We will continue to engage in further dialogue through a social media campaign where each question will be presented and we will capture any feedback or conversation to further provide information to our stakeholders and elected officials.

2022 Membership Invoices
Membership invoices for 2022 are now past due. Any member who has not renewed their membership, or contacted the Chamber regarding their outstanding membership fees risks not being a member in good standing of the Chamber. Your paid membership includes your listing in our 2022 Business Directory, coming out later this spring. It also gives you access to free and discounted tickets to all member events and educational opportunities.

As a member of the chamber, you influence the shaping of the regional business community. Your membership dollars go towards supporting small, medium and large businesses to grow and thrive throughout the region. Our connections to all levels of government ensures your voices are heard when there are concerns about issues like roads, emergency access, transit routes, construction, labor and skills shortages, and much more.
If you haven’t yet paid your membership and would like to do so, contact our office or go to your profile on our website to make your payment today.

If you have questions regarding your membership, or are unsure about your membership status, contact our Membership Services Specialist, Jodie MacPherson at jmacpherson@gprchamber.ca. We continue to value your support and look forward to seeing more of you throughout the year.
