Several acts are set by Broadway actors Ahmad Simmons, Jay Armstrong Johnson, and Mary Michael Patterson. Each act was chosen and produced specifically with the pandemic in-mind, utilizing outdoor spaces, social-distancing, and masks, when needed.
In lieu of a traditional, on-stage performance, FWAFA is working with a professional crew of videographers to film and produce a full-length, high-quality, virtual performance you won't want to miss!

One Event, Two Ways to Watch:
|
|
Inspired by our artistic students, Singing Girls of Texas (SGT) presents Adventures in Color, a multimedia performance exploring the idea of music as visual and performance art.
Each piece was selected for its connection to a different color. Student-led groups not only learned and performed the music, but came up with a visual concept which embodies the story, the color, and the essence of that piece. All the work included in Adventures in Color is student directed and created. Every concept, photo, piece of art, or movement was created by their incredible minds.

|
Join us at The Color Festival! This socially-distanced, in-person event takes place May 15th at 7pm . The Color Festival includes a big-screen showing of Adventures in Color, a live meet the artists panel, food trucks - entrees and dessert, balloon animals, above-the-mask face painting, and other colorful activities.
If you prefer our virtual option, Adventures in Color will be streaming online at ArtsAcademics.org/LIVE, May 15 - 21.

FWAFA Thespians Highlight Theatre in Our Schools Month with a Duck Hunt!
Why ducks??
The rubber duck has become the favored mascot for Thespian troupes across the nation! Thespians celebrate friendships and fun with duck buddies at festivals from Washington to Florida, New York to California, and all points in between!
On March 25, the Theatre in our Schools Month Committee hid nearly 200 ducks throughout FWAFA. The student who collected the most ducks by the end of the day on March 26th would be awarded a prize.
Congratulations to FWAFA 6th grader, Kolby H. who collected the most ducks for Theatre in Our Schools Month Duck Hunt! Kolby won a $50 VISA Gift Card, courtesy of FWAFA Thespians Troupe 6391!
