Derek received this message from Sergei.
"Jan, ...If I understood Sergai a bomb landed about 1 km from their campground. He is at the border with Mike and headed back to Lutsk. He's going to try and call me back."
Below see pictures from the "Bread Baking Brigade." They bake the bread, and then deliver it by car. The drivers are extremely close to the fighting and bombing. Pray for them to have Godspeed.
Julie wrote the following.
"Areas of Kharkiv have no food at all. Our drivers were able to take a truck loaded with food and distribute it directly to the people -without the assistance of other organizations. Priority of food and aid is given to people who are in immediate need. Photos show the grateful people with food in their homes. There is a remnant of four sisters and one deacon left in one of the local churches in Khakiv."
"Kharkiv bakery – ...We were able to purchase 44,000 pounds of flour at half price and transport it to a rehabilitation center in Ukraine. There they have a bakery in the basement and have provided many loaves of fresh bread to those in need. See photo of flour in trucks, bakery, and finished bread."
"Team in Poland – We are so thankful to our American and Ukrainian team on the ground in Poland. As access to food, medicine, baby food, and hygiene products dwindle in Ukraine, our team in Poland has been shopping and organizing transportation to the Polish Ukrainian border...."
"I don’t know if you saw this map in the video, Sergei is based out of Lutsk (blue box). The main areas to where our aid is going are Chernihiv, Karkhiv, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhe. They are suffering the most. Khmelnitskiy, Poltava, and Kremenchuk, Mukachevo are areas to where people are fleeing or passing through."
Derek and Julie are busily raising funds here in the United States for the work in Ukraine. It is a joy to help financially with the work they are doing. To date, ORH has sent them $12,000.00. Pray ORH can do much more to help Derek and Julie with their beloved mission field, Ukraine.
