Nativity Church Collects for Babies in Need
Divine Mercy Care recently received a generous donation of baby basket items from Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, Virginia. The Women of Nativity held a parish-wide baby shower that collected many items for area non-profit organizations, including DMC's Infant Basket Program. We are so appreciative of the support we receive from our community. Thank you to all who donated.

Former Tepeyac OB/GYN Staffer Authors New Book
Three years ago, our friend and colleague, Lynda Rozell, decided it was time for a new adventure. She left her job at Tepeyac OB/GYN, sold her house, and began living on the road full-time in an Airstream travel trailer. Her new book, Journeys with a Tin Can Pilgrim, chronicles Lynda’s transformation from her previous life to that of a Tin Can Pilgrim, including her ongoing spiritual growth and the practical skills she has acquired to live in and tow her Airstream trailer. Lynda seeks to live out her Christian faith in her ordinary, everyday life as she travels around the country visiting campgrounds, RV resorts, parks, and religious sites. Through engaging stories, she invites others into the communities she has found on the road and shares the beauty of Creation and spiritual signposts that continue to lead her to radical trust in God.
Lynda’s book is available through St. John's Press and Amazon (designate Divine Mercy Care as your charity on Amazon Smile, you will also be supporting DMC with your purchase).

Uplifting Grandparents and the Elderly
Pope Francis declared July 25, 2021 the first World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, which will continue to be celebrated on the fourth Sunday of every July. With gratitude for the willingness of grandmothers and grandfathers to bring new life into the world and the special vocation of the elderly to preserve family, pass on the faith to the young and care for and protect children, we share this prayer of thanksgiving.

Prayer for Grandparents
by Msgr. Joseph Quinn
God of the Ages, we praise and thank you. From generation to generation, You have been our refuge and strength. You give your gifts of grace for every time, place and season as we strive within the family to walk in Your ways and remain close to one another and to you. We pray that our homes may be schools of Faith, where we come to know and to love You. Teach us the Sanctity of human love. Show us the value of family life and help us to respect all life. May the young find in the family strong support for their humanity so that they may grow in truth and love. May the elderly experience respect, support, love and care within the family circle. We give thanks for Grandparents and we pray for them. We give thanks for they connect us with our heritage and our roots through the mists of time. We give thanks for their Christian memory which inspires and enlightens us. We give thanks for the example of their faith, for the witness of their lives, for the constancy of their love, for the support of their prayers.
Bless all Grandparents and keep them in Your care. Bless them with peace, health and healing. Reward them for their Faith and fidelity, for their work and goodness, for their love and thoughtfulness, for their gifts and prayers. Give them a long and happy life together. May old age come to them in the company of family and friends. And when life is over, unite them again, where parting will be no more, in the Kingdom of Your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
