Anahata: Opening to the Wisdom of Your Heart
February is known as Heart Month. We may have taken a cue from the stillness of winter, and especially during our lockdown, to explore new ways to support our health. As we venture down these new paths, be it through experimenting with nourishing foods, or embracing new activities, how do we decide where to direct our energy? What patterns do we choose to repeat and which ones are we better off without? In other words, what makes your heart happy?
The heart chakra, or heart energy centre, is referred to as Anahata which is Sanskrit, meaning infinite, or boundless. When we engage in activities or make choices that make us feel light and joyful, we are acting in alignment with our heart wisdom. These generative choices "feel good" in our bodies and the benefits go well beyond the physical. We are inspiring an abundance of love and joy which begins within us but quickly spreads to connect to the world around us.
We hope to support your ongoing physical, mental and spiritual development as our studio re-opens this week with the return of our in-studio offerings, while continuing to offer a full roster of virtual classes, workshops, and mini-sessions. It is our heartfelt desire that you continue to have access to explore all paths that align with your inner wisdom and make your heart happy.

Fundamental Fitness, a Virtual Workshop Series

Our Intro 4-Week Fundamental Fitness program is specifically designed to give you the opportunity to learn about wellness in a supportive and encouraging environment. This mini course provides you with hands on experience in a safe environment to get to know the basics.
We will workout every session, starting with a warm-up, block of exercises (cardio, resistance training/body weight, mobility), and stretch / cooldown.

We are excited to announce our new working relationship with James Knight, founder of Gentle Somatic Yoga. In addition to our current somatic classes and workshops, this partnership will give the Beyond community access to new workshops and trainings. We will invite James to host events in our Beyond studio but until travel restrictions are lifted, watch for special access and feature programs just for Beyond!

Our first virtual collaboration is set for Sunday, March 28th, and is an afternoon dedicated to sharing an introduction to this liberating art of movement practice.
Awaken what’s Possible for you with Gentle Somatic Yoga®. In this practice, you’ll experience restorative sequences, called Somatic Movement Flows®, which are ideal for unwinding stiffness, pain, and postural imbalances, and will dramatically increase flexibility through brain-to-muscle re-education.
Many of our instructors will be in attendance and we would love it if you could join in too!
