DABC is partnering with Inclusion BC and Ending Violence Association of BC to conduct 3-4 virtual focus groups with anti-violence programs and those providing services to people with intellectual disabilities in the community living/independent living sector. The purpose of the focus groups is to identify challenges, gaps, and solutions to better serve people with intellectual disabilities experiencing gender-based violence.
Based on the learnings from the focus groups, DABC and Inclusion BC will develop a practical resource guide for anti-violence programs to enable them to enhance their supports and improve service outcomes for people with intellectual disabilities. The project will focus on domestic/intimate partner violence and sexual assault services.
This project is generously funded by the Ministry of Public Safety.
