DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project 2.0
Project Update
DUI MAT 2.0 Client Services Now Available at 58 DUI Program Locations
DUI MAT Providers will begin offering DUI MAT services on April 1 in 58 locations throughout the state of California. DUI MAT teams have been preparing for this by attending virtual meetings with Michealine Flower, Project Liasion, registering for the project portal, training staff, making copies of handouts and posters, and compiling reference binders for the team. There is a sense of excitement as the project gets underway - excitement for being a part of the project and for the opportunity to offer DUI Program clients life-saving treatment referrals and support for substance use and addiction issues.

With the launch of DUI MAT services, DUI Program clients will receive MAT and Polysubstance education and the opportunity to take a prescreen. Those choosing to participate in the voluntary DUI MAT program will complete a 2nd level assessment, the ASAM. The client will then receive treatment referrals and follow-up sessions with a certified SUD Counselor. The results of DUI MAT 1.0 demonstrated that offering these services through the DUI Network helps those who are ready for change and plants seeds of possibility for those who aren't.

Be sure to check out our first Featured DUI MAT Provider, Safety Consultant Services and School Ten, Inc. providing DUI MAT in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. As participants in DUI MAT 1.0, their team has some great solutions for preparation and organization. If you are interested in being a Featured DUI MAT provider in this newsletter, drop a note to the project team here: DUI MAT Project Team.

Thank you for being a part of the DUI MAT Integration/Outreach Project 2.0!

All program sites are overseen and managed by an administrative office located in Bellflower. It was here where our staging area and “war room” were set up in preparation for disseminating all required materials for the launch of client services on April 1.

Although the Project Portal and all electronic communication clearly described all required forms, handouts, posters, and materials, in the interest of ensuring accuracy and consistency, all program sites received “starter packages” of hard copies for easy reference at a glance. MAT Expansion Partners
The MAT Expansion Project includes over 30 different projects, all supporting the DHCS initiative to address the opioid crisis and other addictions. Each month, we will feature some of our partners.
CA Bridge was launched in 2018 to expand access to medication for addiction treatment through Emergency Departments as critical access points for medical intervention. Their work has expanded to encompass a variety of projects that build on our clinical expertise with the goal of improving access and care for people who use drugs.
The CA Hub & Spoke System (H&SS) aims to combat the opioid crisis in California through a collaborative effort of relevant stakeholders to increase access to MAT services throughout the state.

The H&SS are close partners in the MAT Expansion Project as DUI MAT providers refer clients for treatment at Hub & Spokes.

Kathleen West of the California Hub & Spoke project will join our webinar in May to share a project overview and answer questions.
Review powerful data that brings together county risk and support data points and maps new treatment projects on an interactive map. Access important information about opioid surveillance indicators and MAT Expansion Programs and a lot of other data.
