Colgate-Palmolive Endows Educational Program
Colgate-Palmolive Company has donated $25,000 to endow RSDM's New Horizons Program in memory of the late Dr. Anthony R. Volpe, a retired Colgate executive and Rutgers alumnus. He founded the program to introduce students to non-traditional careers in oral healthcare. LEARN MORE

Students Celebrate Match Day Online

Match Day was held via Zoom this year, but for fourth-year students, it was still cause for celebration. RSDM continued to rank above the national match rate, with 71 percent of students who sought a match finding one as compared to 59 percent nationally. LEARN MORE

Mom's Ordeal Inspired Him to Become Dentist
First-year student Frank Perez credits a dentist in his homeland of Cuba with “giving my mother her life back.’’ After his mom’s teeth deteriorated during pregnancy, she regained her happiness and self-esteem through esthetic restorative dental treatment. Dr. Rosa Chaviano-Moran Named
Head of Hispanic Dental Asssociation
Associate Dean for Admissions Dr. Rosa Chaviano-Moran was recently appointed President of the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA). Dean Cecile A. Feldman congratulated her on her new role, which she'll assume in addition to her work at RSDM. "Dr. Chaviano-Moran has been a tireless and passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion at RSDM and beyond, with a special focus on underrepresented and marginalized students,'' said Dean Feldman. "She has long history of excellence within RSDM and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) in the field of holistic admissions and academic dentistry, as well as deep insight into the strengths and challenges of the Latinx dental community. We are proud of her success and wish her well."

Student Co-Writes Children's Book On Staying Healthy
After spending the first few months of the pandemic watching Netflix, Priya Shah decided to do something productive. She collaborated with RBHS students to create The Kids Quarantine Challenge Book.
A mix of puzzles, word scrambles and other activities, the book teaches children how to stay healthy. Shah was responsible for the book’s dental content, including a coloring-page lesson on tooth enamel, dentin and dental pulp. LEARN MORE
