The Gates of Jerusalem
Our Lenten journey is bringing us to the gates of Jerusalem. We are preparing to pass through them with Jesus into the sanctity of Holy Week. Where and how will we keep our Paschal observances and celebrations? This year, our communities are not in lockdown. Our Churches are open for Holy Week. The old and familiar ways, along with new and innovative ways are all mixing together to make this feel like a new experience.
One thing hasn’t changed: the needs of vulnerable people.
Pandemic or not, all people still need a home, food, clothes, safety, support and being connected to a community.
As we prepare for Holy Week, please find a place for FaithWorks in your life and parish; in your Paschal observances and celebrations. Please support our efforts to meet the needs of the most vulnerable among us.
In your parishes, I ask that the FaithWorks posters are visible and the FaithWorks outreach envelopes are available for everyone to take, “open and be inspired.” Even if your parish’s FaithWorks campaign isn’t until later in the year, we never know when the Holy Spirit will move someone into action.
As part of your Easter observance, please donate to ease the pain and suffering of another. Helping others is our way of proclaiming that the story didn’t end with the tomb for "The Lord is risen, indeed! Alleluia!”
He continues to work through us!
