School Announcements


  • PTA Elections: Elections will be held virtually on Tuesday, November 14th.
  • Picture Day: Students will have their pictures taken on Wednesday, November 15th.
  • Thanksgiving Recess: Schools will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd, and Friday, November 24th.
  • Dental Week: We will be hosting a Dental week from Monday, November 13th to Tuesday, November 21st.
  • P.S.36 Fall Fest: We will be hosting our Fall Fest on Thursday, November 16th at 5pm.
  • Turkey Trot: We will be hosting a Turkey Trot on Wednesday, November 22nd.
  • DOE School Calendar: You can find the new school calendar for the school year of 2023 to 2024 HERE
  • NYC Schools Account: It’s important that your school is able to reach you to share crucial information quickly, including alerts about confirmed COVID-19 cases in your child’s school. We have officially launched our own school website! On the website you will find school information, updates, and resources.

Arrival and Dismissal Updates
  • Breakfast will be served for all students in the cafeteria at 8:00 AM.
  • 3K – PK students will be escorted and picked up by their parent at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Kindergarten and First Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 1 veranda.
  • Second and Third Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the Unit 3 veranda.
  • Fourth and Fifth Grade students will be greeted and dismissed by their teachers at the main lobby, Exit 2 veranda.
If you would like your student to join the program or have any questions about Harlem Dowling and its after school program, please email jfernandez@harlemdowling.org.

School Based Mental Health Services

School Based Mental Health Services offers students a space to talk about their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment and helps them develop healthy coping-skills. We offer individual counseling services, family therapy, and group counseling for students. 

 

If you believe your child can benefit from developing healthy coping skills or if you notice your child is experiencing changes in their eating or sleeping habits, behavioral issues, extreme feelings of sadness or worry, or has experienced any type of traumatic event, please reach out to Ingrid Cabrera at  Ingrid.Cabrera@nyfoundling.org, and fill out a consultation form below.
