Two NAIA Football Players Honored

Each year, Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) recognize a select group of college football players from across the country by naming them to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. The award, given for exemplary community impact, was established in 1992. This year, two of the 22 players recognized are from NAIA institutions. Reed Levi, a tight end at Benedictine College (Atchison, Kan.) and KJ Williams, a running back at Morningside University (Sioux City, Iowa) were both named to the 2025 Good Works Team. Congratulations to both these student-athletes and their football programs on such a prestigious honor.

NAIA RISE

NAIA Governance and Leadership Academy Nominations Open

The NAIA Governance and Leadership Academy (GLA) provides training on NAIA governance and strategic initiatives to minority and female athletics administrators. The GLA introduces participants to NAIA committee work and service while enhancing their leadership acumen.

The third annual GLA will take place April 4, 2024 at Park University in Parkville, Missouri. As in previous years, the event will immediately precede the NAIA National Convention.

The GLA will be limited to 50 participants with each conference allowed to send two participants. Any employee within the athletics department who is a minority or female, regardless of title, can be nominated by their institution. The only exemption is graduate students. Nominations can only be submitted by conference commissioners.

Survey: How to Support International

Student-Athletes

The NAIA RISE Committee conducted five focus groups with international student-athletes to learn about their challenges and support needs. Now we need your feedback to help us determine resources that could aid your institution with the recruitment and retention of international student-athletes.

International Student-Athlete Resource Survey

By completing this survey, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategies and resources designed to better serve international student-athletes within the NAIA.

Eligibility

Changing Term for Determination

Students that register or have a new application started on their behalf will now automatically be registered for a spring determination. For students that are currently enrolled at your institution for the fall term can still receive fall decisions, even if their account shows as a spring term for determination. If a student is not able to move in line for review due to a transcript being requested from your institution and it is the student’s first term at your institution, please do the following:

  • Your institution’s registrar should sign into the NAIA Registrar’s Portal at www.PlayNAIA.org
  • Click on the “Student List” tab at the top of the page
  • Click on the green button next to the student’s name that says “Send Transcript”
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “No” when asked “Is there a transcript for this student?”

Completing these steps will allow the student to move forward, as long as all other necessary documents have been uploaded and paired to the student’s account. Once in review, the term for determination will be changed to the fall 2023 term, as long as the fall term has not concluded at your institution.
