Foundation of Friends
The Foundation of Friends is a group of dedicated volunteers that strives to help IVPL grow and serve the community. They work with the Board of Trustees and library staff to provide funds and resources that allow the library to continue to grow along with the needs of the community.
Recently many of you received a membership request from the Foundation of Friends. Later this year you will also receive a direct appeal from the Indian Valley Public Library asking for a financial contribution. The question arises, “Why two requests, what is the difference between the IVPL and the FOF mailings?
The purpose of the Foundation of Friends is to prepare for the long-range sustainability of the Indian Valley Public Library. Growth in the Indian Valley region is increasing, new population, new opportunities, and the process of how does the current Indian Valley Public Library responds to the growth issues of a dynamic community. The FOF Membership appeal will help grow a dynamic group of individuals to lead the way and the money needed to make this happen.
The IVPL Annual Appeal is for funds needed for the general operating budget. These much-needed funds help pay for collections, salary, and expenses to keep the building open on a daily basis.
I hope that we all now have a better understanding of these two appeals. Being a resident of Franconia, and a member of the IVPL and the FOF, I appreciate all the Library does to respond to the educational and social needs of our great community. We are very fortunate to have such a great asset to the Indian Valley region.

Featured Online Resource
Each month we highlight one of the many free online resources that IVPL provides for you, our patrons. This month we are going local with The Philadelphia Inquirer Online.
Are you a news junkie with a particular interest in local news, events, and sports? Well, you are in luck because you can read every issue of The Inquirer dating back to 1981! No need to pay for a subscription anymore, we've got you covered.
There are several different things I have my hands in here at IVPL. In addition to helping to raise funds for the library, I do some things with the web, social media, and build this newsletter. I see how many people watch our videos on Facebook, view our posts on Instagram, and open our emails. I know you value the content IVPL provides to the community because I can see the results of it.
That is why I ask for your support. Your donations help support our staff, programming, and facilities. If you haven't already done so this year, and find it within your means, please consider making a donation to IVPL today. Every gift counts – no matter the amount! Help IVPL continue to serve as a pillar in the community both now and into the future.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
