2022 INCENTIVE PROGRAMS FOR DISTRICT

RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES

Last year, district staff secured $4,541,559 in funding for new and continuing incentive programs. The following incentive programs are currently accepting applications.

FARMER PROGRAM

FARMER solicitation is open with $1,975,137 in available funding. Visit the FARMER Program page on our website to apply.


This program provides funds to replace aging ag equipment with newer more efficient machines to help reduce emissions from the agricultural sector in the District. This infographic shows how these funds have supported our agricultural partners over the last few funding cycles.

CARL MOYER PROGRAM

Solicitation is open and currently accepting applications until May 13, 2022. The Moyer Program for the District has $1,24M in funding to replace existing on- and off-road, heavy-duty vehicles with zero-emission trucks and buses, and install low carbon fueling infrastructure. WOODSMOKE REDUCTION PROGRAM -

Now Open

With funding from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Targeted Airshed Grant, the District is offering a voucher program for the replacement of non-compliant woodstoves or open-hearth fireplaces.


To qualify residents must reside within the District and the Sacramento Federal PM2.5 Nonattainment Area. Vouchers are available in $1000 and $3500 amounts depending on income. LEARN MORE AND APPLY.

"SPARE THE AIR" Season Starts May 1st

This is a Sacramento Regionwide driving reduction campaign with the goal of improving air quality. Starting May 1st and running through October 31st, the Spare The Air (STA)campaign provides the public with air quality-related health information, and issues STA alerts when the AQI (for Ozone) is forecast to be 126 or above.   • Share your commute by carpooling
  • Take public transit

Come see us at Loopalooza in Davis

Sunday, May 1st from 10am - 2pm


Join us as we celebrate the start of "May is Bike Month" at Loopalooza in Davis from 10 am - 2 pm. The District tent will be located near Holmes Jr. High School. Stop by for some fun bike giveaways and Spare the Air mascot 'Scooter' will be joining us from 10:30 am-12:30 pm to cheer riders on as they pedal along the Davis Bike Loop.

'Don't Light Tonight' (DLT) 2021-2022 Season Ends

This annual program runs from November 1 through the end of February each year. During the DLT season, residents are asked to refrain from wood burning on days when weather conditions contribute to an increase in particle pollution closer to ground level. For the 2021-2022 DLT season there were 7 'Don't Light Tonight' alerts issued. Find out more about the DLT program.
