2021-2022 STUDENT PARKING APPLICATIONS
All students entering grades 11 and 12 for the 2021-2022 school year will receive an email with application details this afternoon, Wednesday, June 2. For parking applications to be processed, students must complete and submit the online form no later than this Friday, June 4

Parking assignments for students will be based on the following criteria: seniority, carpool and time registration form is submitted. Students will be required to provide carpool information - no application will be accepted without a carpool. Payment of $150 will be collected after parking spaces have been assigned. If you have questions, please contact the Dean's Office.

GUIDANCE FOR FULLY VACCINATED STUDENTS
Bishop Blanchet has adopted CDC guidelines for students who have been fully vaccinated. As outlined by the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated for COVID-19 ≥2 weeks after they have received the second dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), or ≥2 weeks after they have received a single-dose vaccine. A copy of a student’s COVID-19 vaccination card must be submitted via email to the Dean's Office. Fully vaccinated students can:
  • Refrain from quarantine and testing following a known exposure if asymptomatic.
  • Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel, or self-quarantine after travel.
  • Refrain from testing before leaving the United States for international travel (unless required by the destination) and refrain from self-quarantine after arriving back in the United States.

FAMILIES AWAITING COVID TEST RESULTS
As a reminder, if any household member is awaiting COVID-19 test results, please refrain from sending your student for in-person learning or in-person activities until the results of that test are known.

OUT OF STATE TRAVEL
Bishop Blanchet has adopted CDC guidelines for all out of state travel. Those returning from out of state have two quarantine options:
  1. Forgo a COVID-19 test and quarantine for 10 days upon returning from out of state travel. After day 10, eligible to return to in-person learning and in-person activities.
  2. Get tested 5 days after out of state travel and stay home/self quarantine for the full 7 days, even with a negative test.
  • Those who decide to return after 7 days are required to submit their negative COVID-19 test result to the Dean’s Office prior to returning to in-person learning and in-person activities.

Families traveling out of state are required to complete this form. School personnel will communicate a return date for in-person learning and in-person activities. We feel it is important to reiterate that public health guidance is to avoid non-essential travel. This protocol has been developed to address the occurrence of essential travel. If you have any questions, please contact the Dean’s Office

REQUIRED REPORTING OF POSITIVE CASE OF COVID-19
If a student or member of their household tests positive for COVID-19, families must notify the Dean’s Office by contacting Chris Bilanko, Dean of Students, and follow the BBHS COVID-19 Community Protocols prior to returning to campus or participating in any school-sponsored activity. This information will remain confidential and allow the school to initiate its communication protocols. Any student who does not follow BBHS COVID-19 Community Protocols will face disciplinary consequences and may be prohibited from participating in on-campus learning and extracurricular activities. In the event of a positive case in our student body, faculty or staff, Bishop Blanchet will communicate to the entire community and work directly with families if their student is impacted.

FALL SPORTS 2021 INFORMATION
We anticipate and are planning for a return to the traditional sports schedule for the 2021-22 school year (Fall, Winter and Spring sports played in the traditional timeframes). Fall Sports begin on Monday, August 23 with the exception of football, which begins on Wednesday, August 18.

Bishop Blanchet requires physicals to be renewed each school year. We highly recommended to have your students’ physical completed in July-August, so it is current for the entire coming school year. To be eligible for tryouts or participation, all athletes need to upload their current Physical and Medical History Form to FamilyID.

Once forms are submitted online, the parent/guardian account holder will receive a confirmation email from FamilyID, stating that their registration has been successfully completed. The Athletic Office will then review the registration. Parent/guardian account holders will be sent an email stating that the student athlete is/is not eligible to participate, due to a specific reason. The Athletic Office will open Monday, August 16 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to help with the registration process.

Fall cut-sports consist of Boys and Girls Golf, Girls Soccer and Volleyball. Fall non-cut sports are Boys and Girls Cross Country, Football and Girls swimming. Please refer to the BBHS Athletic page for tryout information, dates and times.

ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS: SENIOR CLASS GIFT
In recent weeks, seniors have been asked to reflect on their time at BBHS and consider participating in the Senior Class Gift program. We are asking each senior to give $5 to the BBHS Brave Fund in honor of their time here at Bishop Blanchet, and in an effort to continue to provide the benefits they received to current and future Braves. BBHS is able to offer its students so many opportunities thanks to the generosity of our donors. We encourage you to share with your student why you as a parent believe in giving to the BBHS Brave Fund and hope that they are inspired by your own generosity. Your student can give online here. We thank you and your soon-to-be alum for your support!
