Rapid Fire Research 2022
Students have 4 MINUTES and 4 SLIDES to present their BIG IDEA: Rapid Fire Research 2021 was a blast and now it’s back by popular demand! The student-led Science Council hosts this one-of-a-kind gathering March 28 to hear from undergrad and grad student researchers. Social Bonds Feb. 25
USU neurobiologist Sara Freeman presents “From Animals to Autism: The Science of Social Bonds” at Science Unwrapped Friday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in ESLC 130. All are welcome! The presentation will also be live-streamed at usu.edu/unwrapped. 
Geology Rocks at Rock-n-Fossil Day
Saturday, Feb. 26
USU Department of Geosciences’ popular Rock-n-Fossil Day is back to “in-person” Saturday, Feb. 26, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Geology Building. Enjoy presentations, hands-on activities, a museum tour and more. Bring your ‘mystery’ rock or fossil for identification by USU geologists. All welcome, free admission.
HackUSU 2022 Registration Open
Encourage your students to participate in HackUSU March 18-19, a 24-hour, free hackathon featuring coding workshops, networking and free food in Huntsman Hall on campus. No coding experience is required and all Utah college students and high school seniors are invited.
Spring Runoff Conference Set for
March 29, 2022
USU’s annual Spring Runoff Conference, for all scholars involved in water-related research, will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Eccles Conference Center on campus. Registration and Call for Abstracts are open. Undergrads, graduate students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.

Fostering Inclusion in the College
The College of Science invites applications to a faculty cluster hire of at least four positions on the Logan campus, to enhance justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) efforts in science and mathematics disciplines in our college.
College of Science Offers
Student Hardship Fund
Know of students in need of assistance? The College of Science Hardship Fund provides one-time, emergency financial assistance to students within the college who are experiencing a crisis. This fund is separate from the university’s Student Emergency Fund, from which science majors may also apply for assistance. To access the fund’s website, select “Students” from the main navigation bar on the College of Science home page and select “Student Hardship Fund” from the drop-down menu. The site provides additional information about university resources available for students.
