Combining their experiences in CCF's Play With Me program, research mentoring from our faculty affiliates, and their own life experiences, our REU students are conducting culturally-responsive research in different areas of developmental science. REU student Sandra Ventura is interested in how many parents of primarily Spanish-speaking children use intervention services when their child has a developmental delay and how developmental screening tools could be more accurate for diverse children. We are grateful for their leadership!

From the Director
It has been a full, if very hot, summer and its crazy to think that the start of Fall semester is just around the corner. We are saying goodbye to our first group of students who've participated in the Center's NSF-REU Site: Culturally Responsive Research in Developmental Science. I hope the relationships formed among the students and with the REU faculty mentors and Center staff will continue and that many will stay involved with the Center in various ways. We are welcoming new staff in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences--Michael Gute--who will be directing the Center's fundraising efforts, and looking forward to welcoming our next cohort of REU students and new student volunteers to the Center in just over a month. Planning for Fall outreach programs in the community is well underway. We hope that you're able to enjoy some time away, and perhaps a break from the heat, and we look forward to connecting soon.
