County of Berks to kick off study for agricultural economic impact and strategic action plan to support ag industry

Agriculture is a critical industry in Berks County, the region, and the state, but being able to quantify its impact at a local level can be challenging. The County of Berks, through its Department of Agriculture, is partnering with ACDS, LLC (Agricultural and Community Development Services, www.acds-llc.com) to determine agriculture’s economic impact in Berks County and develop a strategic action plan for the County and its partners to support and expand the agricultural industry. The study will include analysis of existing data and extensive efforts to fully capture the depth and breadth of the industry via interviews and focus group discussions with those in agriculture and related industries. In the coming weeks and months, ACDS will be contacting a variety of individuals to provide input. Feel free to contact the Berks County Department of Agriculture if you have any questions, and we thank you in advance for your participation!
